Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone (pronounced [di:pIka p@dUko:ne (pronounced [pa:dUkoborn on January 5, 1986) is an Indian actress, who is primarily in Hindi film productions. It is among the actresses with the highest salaries in India with her accomplishments that includes the three Filmfare Awards. She is featured in the lists of the nation's most popular stars; Time named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2018 and awarded her The TIME100 Impact Award in 2022. Padukone was the daughter of the professional badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and educated in Bangalore. She was a badminton player at national championships as a teenager but she gave up playing for the sake of becoming a model. In 2006 Padukone made her debut as an actor in the Kannada movie Aishwarya. Padukone was then cast in a double part alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her debut Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007) and won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female debut.
