Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England at the age of 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it when she was 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed then-Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed the Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. She ranked in the 12th spot on Forbes' list. The Guardian also included her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of the AOL media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her entire life. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities and is a household name. She moved to England at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate group. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. Her career as an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. Additionally, she starred with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
