Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life through her vivid and broad imagination. Before she could read or write and compose her own songs. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While in high school, she made herself known to the community, but her ambition was bigger. On the very day she graduated from the high school in 1964. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated show on TV at the time, was in search for a girl to sing for his program. Parton was hired in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. The year 1974 was the first when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's show because the success of her own solo records including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. The song by Parton, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), hit the number. #1 spot following their broke up. 1. for the first time in 1974.
