Swift could build on her progress through Speak Now almost two year later. The singer's popularity increased over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within the genre she was a part of. Although she slowed down her approach with 2020's stripped-down siblings' folklore and Evermore she was still atop the world of pop, a position she kept with the re-recordings of her back catalog along with Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 set.
