Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his family and community service. The first time Selmon was brought up by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on an agricultural property near Eufala within Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. The second football was that his father was the only of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was an All-Star for the whole 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. Lee Roy won two championships, and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon obtained a degree as an educator. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service consisted of ten hours a week in volunteer work during the college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Also, he began his career in the field of business. The first job he had was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds when he played college football. In 1975, he was on the team. group. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor, who awarded this award.
